It gives me immense pleasure to make the following announcement to the community (sarcasm very much intended).
During the past couple of weeks, we were running a Gold promotion along with PlaySpan. However, it came to our attention that thousands of players were exploiting this promotion and had gained literally millions of Gold for themselves.
As a measure to ensure the safety of the economy and since exploits are against the terms of services, we have banned all the users who have abused this promotion.
Till now we have banned 16,000 accounts for exploiting the PlaySpan promotion and thousands more are to follow. This includes all the main and alternate accounts of the exploiters. Ouch!!! Isn't it?
This announcement is being made to notify the community of major efforts that our team is making to ensure that everyone has a fair advantage in-game. It is also a notification to the exploiters that we will not be tolerating activities that are against the terms of services and EULA.
We have pulled the plug on the promotion to avoid further exploit.
I bet that we will receive tickets in which they will claim that it's their cat who clicked the button. We will ban such accounts twice. One for exploiting the promotion and one for sharing the account with the cat.
