You will not have enough int and the basic ask skills are based on nit except for one skill. Psy Wizards are getting power on higher levels after you can grab most of your wizard skills.
It does not matter what level you are, you need some decent nit to power up your magic attack based skills. Get 80 base int so when you start the game with your mage, adds 3 int and 1 vat each level up. You can play with the recommended 50 base int, but it makes your game way harder from level 20 to level 65. And 70-80 int is all you need as a psy wizard and if you get it early on, you can survive the lower levels easily.
