The soul of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG) come from the millions of players as they interact, trade items, and explore monster-infested dungeons together, unfolding an entirely unique storyline from their own creation.
With four million players of MapleSEA in Singapore and Malaysia, the voyage of MapleStory has finally reached Philippine shores. Complete with the latest patches and updates, Filipino players are just in time for the Big Bang, and are expected to learn much from the Singaporean and Malaysian players until they have established a community of their own.
"We are very delighted and excited to expand into the Philippines with the launch of MapleSEA. It gives us great honor and pleasure to be able to bring MapleSEA experience in its entirety to the fans in the country, that will include more great content, exciting features and interesting activities across the region for all gamers," said Mr. Sherman Tan, Chairman of AsiaSoft Online. "As we celebrate this monumental occasion, we also look forward to bringing more titles for the Philippines gaming community and continue to engage our gamers through fun and entertainment."
MapleStory is the world's first free2play 2D side scroller MMORPG with platforming elements. Players can choose one from the 16 available classes and travel around the Maple World.
Along with the game's localization, the latest update, JUMP, introduces entirely new features that provoked interest even from veteran players.
These features include, rebalancing for the basic classes Warrior, Bowman and Magician, revamped party quests, additional monsters and quests, and Player versus Player (PvP).
The game also features Maple Cash where players use real-world money to purchase advanced quality items and pets. Most of these items are decorations for more character personalization. Maple Cash can be obtained through prepaid cards that are expected to be sold in loading stations by mid-March.
The game is free and is easily accessible via download from the MapleSEA website. The game accesses the Malaysian Gateway, with the main server coming from Singapore, local players may interact with players from those countries, and learn from each other. Time will tell if Filipino players will grow large enough to host their own server.
