I took up engineering at level 60 in order to make repair bots for my guild and I did not expect to make much money. It turns out that I make a lot of money in very little time with this. Here is what I do:
1) I produce Thorium Shells. I can put these up on the AH for double the cost of mats and they sell like hotcakes. I can sell upwards of 20 stacks a day and make 80s profit a stack at least. Mithril Gyro shots and Mithril Slugs can also make a reasonable profit.
2) Farm fused wiring from Targets Dummies. I usually sell a couple of these a day for about 5g each.
3) Thorium Widgets sell well around the time of the Darkmoon Faire and make an easy profit.
My other skill besides engineering is Alchemy. I make around 5g a day just by transmuting Essence of Water to Essence of Air. I also produce Arcane Elixir, Elixir of Giants, Elixir of the Mongoose and Elixir of Shadow Power. On my server all the herbs for these potions cost less than the potions themselves so this is an easy profit.
